His obsession with little Santa’s and Snowmen that he had to take out with him everywhere – we did get some looks as December slowly turned into April and May and he was still carrying his Santa’s and Snowmen everywhere – but definitely gave people something to smile about!!

My first Christmas with my boyfriend in our own place last year and we couldn’t afford a tree so we bought that small one at the pound shop but I didn’t care that it wasn’t real and was tiny. Christmas was still so lovely and magical… its my favourite time of year and putting the tree up is definitely a highlight even if its switching on a tiny tree.

Our little Christmas angel has sat at the top of our family Christmas tree for 72 years. Over the years she has had her dress replaced many times but she is still the same little angel my late mother bought all those years ago in Woolies.
Every year when Christmas was over my Mother used to kiss the little angel before she packed her away and thanked her for keeping her family safe for another year.
She has seen us through some very difficult Christmases and thankfully many many Happy Christmas times.
She is the last decoration I now place on my tree every year and the last one I take off. she is then packed away in tissue paper until the next Christmas comes around but not before she gets a little kiss and a special thank you.

This is my favourite photo, sprinkling reindeer food on the grass, moments like this won’t last forever and it breaks my heart to think making memories like this will one day be a thing of the past, time doesn’t wait and children grow up far to fast

Glistening snow made Christmas magical for us all especially my little granddaughter. We all laughed when she liked the bike but absolutely loved the wellies the best of all her gifts. She had to wear them indoors too until the novelty wore off.

My very old photo of me (right) and my big sister, Lisa, sending our Christmas greetings to our grandparents in Norway (Mum was Norwegian). Our message was written on a large sheet pinned over the fireplace! I still miss my lovely grandparents, who lived until I was in my mid-30s. “God Jul Bestemor & Bestefar!”

If you look very carefully you will see a little Christmas pudding. Last year my son was home from university with several friends and I had bought a range of fimo clay and we all made Christmas tree decorations and Christmas ornaments. It was great fun , especially as my son and I are not at all arty so everything we made had a naive art quality to it. They then returned to college and slipped them on the college trees hoping that it wouldn’t be noticed and they would become part of college history. We treasure the memory and laughs as well as the really sweet tree heirlooms we have now acquired.

No matter how long the queue is for the bathroom at Christmas time it is nice to have friends over! (Haha, I know that I am just being silly but it is a funny memory for me when I took this photo).
